『Join the mochi-maki and line up the candles!』
Collaboration with the popular Karato shopping street event “Karato Dayo! All-Member Assembly” last year. “Fukumochi Maki” (with a gift certificate worth 500 yen that can be used at registered stores in Karato Shopping Street) will be held at “Citizen’s Square” in front of Shimonoseki City Hall. Local junior high and high school brass band clubs, dance clubs, Heike Taiko clubs, and artists related to the shopping district perform. After sowing rice cakes, let’s create a candle night from night with all the citizens. Let’s arrange candles, light candles, and liven up “Karato” and “Shimonoseki / Kanmon Strait” by each participation method! There are also food and gourmet stores such as kitchen cars!

下Held a candle making workshop in collaboration with university students at Seki City University. In addition, we plan to open food and gourmet stores such as kitchen cars and stores from the Karato shopping district. We are also looking for candle lights and management volunteers.
Now, let’s produce a candle night with all the citizens. Let’s arrange candles, light candles, and liven up “Karato” and “Shimonoseki / Kanmon Strait” by each participation method!

Approximately 1000 candles will be installed on the 60-step front stairs, and approximately 1000 candles will be installed in the precincts centered on the front of the shrine.

Approximately 2000 candles are lit, including lanterns created by civic groups and citizens. This year, university students, high school students, and junior high school students in the city will participate from the point of thinking about candle art, and will create a fantastic space in the hall.

◆Ekimachi Square (Japan Ceremony Walk, Daimaru Shimonoseki store and in front of Sea Mall)
At “Ekimachi Square” (artificial ground) in front of JR Shimonoseki Station and Sea Mall Shimonoseki, about 2,500 candles and various illuminations will decorate the winter city. In addition, “Ekimachi Night Marche” (miscellaneous goods, food, music stage) sponsored by the Ekimachi Shimonoseki Promotion Council will be held at the same venue at the same time.
